See at a glance where work stands

When several orders run at once, the big question is often: where do we stand right now? Who is working on what? What is already done, and what is still waiting? CutOptix's production tracking board brings order to that situation: every order is a card, every work phase is a column, and one move makes the whole shop transparent.

No sticky notes on the wall, no keeping track in your head of where each order stands. The board is visual, easy to grasp, and makes it clear to everyone what to work on next.

Overview of the Kanban board. Each column is a production stage; cards are orders. Drag-and-drop is supported.

How does it work in practice?

When an order enters the system, it appears on the board in the right place—for example in the “Received” or “Waiting” column. As work progresses, you drag the card to the next column: material check, cutting, edge banding, assembly, done. Column names and order can be tailored to your shop; you are not locked into a fixed template.

When you move a card, the order status updates too. No separate admin step: the board and the order list show the same state. That is especially useful when several people use the system and everyone needs to talk about the same real-time picture.

Every card holds the details

A card is not just a label on the board. Open it and you see which order it is, what line items it includes, and what deadline applies. You can add notes, attach files—drawings or photos—and build checklists for tasks. On larger orders this helps ensure nothing is missed: which material arrived, which step is done, what is still open.

Checklists can even be generated automatically from order content. If the order includes several materials or edge bands, the system suggests tasks accordingly. When every box is checked, the card can move to the next phase—or the customer can be notified that work is complete.

Transparent shop floor, balanced workload

The board shows what is in progress and helps keep workload under control. You can set per column how many orders may sit in a given phase at once—so too much work does not pile up at the same workstation.

Closed or outdated cards can be archived so the daily view stays clean, while older jobs remain searchable. When shop processes change, columns can be renamed, colored, and reordered—the board adapts to your company, not the other way around.

Tipp

Build the board to match your real shop-floor process. When columns reflect how you actually work, moving cards feels natural and tracking does not stay on paper only.

Summary

The production tracking board is the control center for daily work. You see who is on what, what is waiting, what is finished. Less confusion, fewer phone calls, and a shared picture for the whole team.
