Order management

Capture orders easily, without paper

Every order starts in one place

For a panel shop or furniture manufacturer, the order is where business starts. If orders live only on paper, in Excel, or in email threads, items get lost, deadlines slip, and customer experience suffers. CutOptix order management replaces that with a clear digital workflow.

The system approaches orders from two sides. Your team records orders on the internal interface, manages customers, and launches every next step—nesting, production tracking, export. Customers do not have to dictate dimensions by phone: the order form embeds on their site, or they can place orders with their own account.

What does an order look like?

When you create an order, the system guides you step by step. Choose or create the customer, then add line items: material, thickness, part sizes, quantities, which edges need banding. The shop interface adds options such as duplex marking or detailed production notes.

Material selection is not free typing: the system offers choices from your catalog, filtered by manufacturer, category, and thickness. Image-backed pickers help customers and staff find the right board quickly. When you specify edge banding, thickness is included so cut sizes adjust automatically.

An order can start as a simple quote request, not only a firm order. Status is tracked end to end: received, confirmed, production progress, completion. Leave it as a draft if it is not final yet and finish later. On submit, the customer can receive a confirmation email with an order summary.

Online ordering for your customers

Many customers want to place orders themselves without calling or copying dimensions from email. Embed the order form on your website so it looks like part of their site. They see the same fields: pick material, enter sizes, mark edge banding, submit.

After registration, customers can use their own account. They save drafts, review past submissions, and update company or shipping details. On your side, every online order appears in the same list as phone or walk-in orders—no separate silo, no manual retyping.

The structure behind your materials

For the order form to work well, build the master data first. Manufacturers, material types, board sizes and thicknesses, and edge bands can all live in the system. Large catalogs can be bulk-imported from files with images—you do not need to type hundreds of rows one by one.

When materials and edge bands are set up correctly, orders arrive precise and consistent. You do not reverse-engineer which thickness or edge band the customer meant—they are clear at entry time.

Supporting day-to-day work

Filter the order list by status, customer, and date to find what you need fast. Edit, duplicate, or restore deleted lines in one click. Kanban cards and order status stay in sync: advance the workflow and the order updates, and vice versa.

Tipp

Set up your material catalog early. The more accurate the master data, the fewer mistakes and phone calls when orders come in.

Summary

Order management is the backbone of CutOptix. Everything starts here: customer data, accurate line items, deadlines. The internal UI and online order form together ensure production always starts from clean, current information.
